Family history of multiple sclerosis
- Life Cover – HSBC Life will offer standard rate decisions, increase to the premium or be unable to provide a quote
- Critical Illness Cover & TPD – HSBC are currently unable to provide a quote.
There are some rules that apply across all applicants with a family history of multiple sclerosis – that would result in HSBC Life not being able to offer Life Cover at the current time. Such as:
- More than 2 family members diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
If the applicant is able to confirm no to all of the above the outcome will then depend on their age, treatment, frequency of symptoms and smoker status.
This is a general guide and is not a guarantee of acceptance.
