  • Life cover –  HSBC Life will offer standard rate decisions, increase to the premium or be unable to provide a quote
  • Critical Illness –  we will either offer standard rate decisions or be unable to provide a quote
  • TPD – we are unable to provide a quote.

There are some rules that apply across all applicants with osteoarthritis – that would not result in HSBC being able to offer Life or Critical Illness cover at the current time. Such as:

  • Any outstanding reviews or investigations
  • Being bedridden
  • Being under the age of 50 and applying for Critical Illness.

If the applicant is able to confirm no to all of the above the outcome will then depend on their age, date of diagnosis, treatment along with frequency and severity of symptoms.

This is a general guide and is not a guarantee of acceptance.
